Beginner's Socks

I grew up in a yarn shop, literally! My mom has owned and operated her shop in St. Cloud, MN for 45 years. My love of knitting and fiber (yarn) started when I was about 10 years old and I have been knitting ever since. I am currently working on completing my Master Knitter certificate and have successfully passed Level 1 of this challenging program. I have taught many students over the years, from kindergartners to seniors and even my husband! I love watching peoples' skills and confidence with knitting grow while they become passionate about knitting.

There are a lot of "knitting courses" and "how to knit" videos out there, but they all seemed to be missing one thing or another. This can be very frustrating to those who are excited to start knitting but then lose a stitch (pun intended) and end up abandoning their project and more importantly don't learn what they sought out to in the first place.

I designed The Knitting Academy to be THE turn-key solution for people to learn how to knit, regardless of experience. It is my passion to help people learn how to start and complete a variety of knitting projects. From casting on to finishing, I am here to teach you new skills and develop confidence as you become a more experienced knitter. Each course will provide step-by-step instruction as I knit the project right along with you with guest appearances from Barley.
